What Happens on Sundays?

We have three worship services every Sunday.

• Traditional Service – 8:30 a.m.
• Contemporary Service – 11:00 a.m.
• Hispanic Service – 12:30 p.m.

We have small group Bible Studies for every age group on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. Please click here to find out more about our Sunday morning Bible study groups.

Where do I park?
We have two main entrances to our building on Sunday mornings:

Sanctuary entrance with the brick columns face south toward City Center Blvd.

Children and youth ministry entrance on the rear side of the building across from the playground and ball field. There are guest parking spaces in both locations. If you need to register nursery, preschool, and elementary school children, we suggest parking near the children’s ministry entrance.

What do I wear?
Dress how you will be most comfortable. We think people and relationships are more important than what you wear.

First Baptist Church, Newport News is a multi-generational church with people of all ages, which makes for a variety in styles of dress. Generally speaking, the worshipers at the 8:30 service tend to dress in more traditional church apparel, while at the 11:00 service you will see people dressing more casually — wearing jeans, golf shirts and numerous other styles.

The Spanish language service has a wide variety of dress options.

Where do my children go?
Nursery and preschool-age children are on the first floor inside our main children’s entrance located at the rear of our building across from the ball field and playground.

Grade school children are on one side of the second floor.

Youth 6th-12th grade are on the other side of the second floor.
